Insights from CYLCOMED’s 5th Consortium Meeting

On February 18-19, the CYLCOMED project held its 5th consortium meeting, hosted by partner MediaClinics Italia in Trento. MediaClinics Italia is an expert medical device manufacturer and an innovative SME.

Over the two days, partners shared updates on their progress, including:

  • Technical advancements: Details on integration and validation with real-world applications, including pilot programs.
  • Cybersecurity progress: XLAB, Eviden, and Martel provided updates on the status, timeline, achievements, and next steps for the cybersecurity toolbox.
  • Risk management: INOV presented an overview of risk management within the connected medical devices (CMDs) field, including risk-benefit schemes and frameworks.
  • Legal guidance: KU Leuven discussed their involvement in dissemination activities and progress on legal guidance for the consortium.
  • Standardization: A comprehensive report on standardization activities was also presented.
  • Awareness raising and communication: An outlook of approaching conferences and partnership with sibling projects

Looking ahead

Now in its 28th month, CYLCOMED is approaching its final semester. Live meetings like this, where both technical and medical partners can share their unique perspectives, are essential for effective discussion of challenges and establishing a clear path forward.

Together, our consortium is working to boost the cybersecurity of CMDs for the benefit of hospitals and patients!
